Official Trézor Suite — Desktop & Web App for Hardware Wallets

Official Trézor Suite

Desktop & web application designed to manage your Trezor hardware wallet(s): install firmware, add accounts, sign transactions, and safely interact with DeFi and NFTs.

Overview

Trezor Suite is the official companion application for Trezor hardware wallets. It centralizes onboarding, firmware management, account and transaction handling, and integrations with third-party decentralized applications. Suite’s priority is to provide a secure, auditable interface while ensuring that private keys remain on the hardware device and all critical confirmations occur on-device.

Download & install

  1. Visit trezor.io/start to choose the appropriate Suite build (desktop or web).
  2. Verify you are on the official domain; optionally check installer checksums if provided.
  3. Run the installer and allow required permissions for device communication.
  4. Open Suite and follow the guided onboarding to pair your device.

Pairing & initial setup

When you first connect a Trezor device, Suite walks you through the essential setup steps: choose or confirm a PIN, generate or confirm the recovery seed, and apply firmware updates if necessary. Sensitive actions like PIN creation and seed confirmation happen on the device screen — Suite never requests or records your seed.

Accounts & asset management

Suite supports a wide set of blockchains and tokens. Add accounts via the "Accounts" tab and create separate wallets for different use cases (e.g., savings vs trading). Suite displays balances, transaction history, and token metadata. For tokens not natively displayed, Suite may offer integrations or instructions to view them with compatible third-party wallets.

Sending, receiving & signing

To receive funds, generate a receive address in Suite and always verify it on your physical device before sharing. For sending, enter the recipient address and amount in Suite — the transaction summary is sent to the device, where you must inspect and approve it. This on-device confirmation prevents host-level tampering and phishing.

DeFi, NFTs & dApp integrations

Suite provides safe pathways to interact with decentralized finance platforms and NFT marketplaces through either built-in integrations or recommended third-party connectors. When using dApps, Suite ensures signing requests are proxied to the device. Always verify contract details and amounts shown on-device for every signature.

Firmware & security updates

Firmware updates are essential and delivered via Suite. Updates can include security patches, improved compatibility, and new features. During an update, follow on-screen prompts and confirm operations on-device. If an update fails, Suite includes recovery options — contact support through official channels rather than sharing recovery data with anyone.

Security model & best practices

Trezor’s security model is layered: device isolation (private keys never leave the hardware), a recovery seed for backup, and Suite as a trusted user interface. Follow these best practices:

  • Only download Suite from trezor.io/start and verify domain authenticity.
  • Never enter your recovery seed into Suite or any online form; record it offline on the provided card or a metal backup.
  • Verify all addresses and transaction details on the device before approving.
  • Consider using a passphrase for additional wallet separation (advanced users only).
  • Keep Suite and device firmware up to date; enable OS-level security features.

Passphrase & hidden wallets

A user-supplied passphrase augments your recovery seed to create additional, hidden wallets. This feature enhances privacy and compartmentalization but carries serious responsibility: losing the passphrase means losing access to those hidden wallets. Only enable it after understanding recovery implications and document the passphrase securely.

Third-party wallet compatibility

Many popular wallets and browser extensions implement Trezor support. Suite acts as a verified gateway for many of these integrations. When connecting third-party software, prefer officially documented integrations and always confirm signatures on-device to prevent malleability or front-end deception.

Troubleshooting & common issues

  • Device not detected: Try a different USB cable/port and restart Suite. On certain OSes, additional permissions or drivers may be required.
  • Firmware update failed: Use Suite’s recovery flow or contact official support. Do not enter your recovery seed into any unsolicited form.
  • Missing tokens: Check Suite’s token list or use a compatible third-party wallet to display certain token standards.
  • Connection errors with dApps: Ensure Bridge/native messaging (if required) is installed and up to date, and that your browser is supported.

FAQ

Can Suite access my private keys?
No. Suite only sends signing requests to the hardware device and never has access to private keys.
What if I lose my device?
If you have your recovery seed, restore your wallet on a new Trezor device or compatible wallet. Without the seed, funds are unrecoverable.
Is Suite required?
Suite is the recommended interface but alternative integrations exist. Suite consolidates firmware, account management, and secure dApp interactions in one trusted app.
